Planetree Trading is a proprietary trading firm and quantitative automated market maker specializing in exchange-traded event contracts through prediction markets. We focus on strategies with risk-return separation: compensation is generated by demand for liquidity, customization, and convex payouts, while risk is driven by the underlying event outcomes. We use pricing, portfolio construction, and hedging to preserve those intermediation premiums while reducing uncompensated event risk.

Jonathan Rapaport
Managing Partner & Founder
After graduating from MIT, Jonathan worked at Goldman Sachs in the Special Situations Group (SSG). He earned his MBA from Columbia Business School in 2021. In 2026 he deployed his first automated market making strategy.
